A Mutual Aid unit covering a Riverside City station picked up this fire. Video shows initial stretch, attack and a surprise towards the end of the video. A good recovery follows.
The video should have been continued for another several minutes, but as this was the photographer's first time that he had ever shot video with his well-used DSLR, he slipped back into his comfort zone and reverted to shooting stills. He's kind of a wuss that way.
Nice work by several MUA cover crews and city units on this, not to mention the help from above.

That's fun!
ReplyDeleteI'll be darned if I can figure out what it is that's burning. Is that (or, rather, was that) a ginormous RV?
Sure wish I could have heard the comment of the FF with the nozzle when he got rained on....
ReplyDeleteWayne - That is (was) one of those large fifth wheel toy haulers. They are pretty popular around her with the sand buggy and four-wheeler crowd.
ReplyDeletePoppylvr _ I hope to see that crew in the next week or so. I'll ask him what his initial reaction was.
Thanks for the comments.
Was that a master stream or something blowing from the trailer?
ReplyDeleteJoe Lowry - Actually, that was a drop from a light helicopter. I don't believe he saw it coming either!
