The Views Expressed..........

This is not a political based blog. It is that way for a reason. There are a ton of blogs out there, from both ends of the political spectrum, that do a far better job expressing their political views than I ever could. Having said that, I must admit that I tend to be more conservative than not.

The following video was sent to me by Julian, a pilot and blogger from near Sydney Austrailia. I am showing it to you, because the people who produced it did a very good job in making their point (even though I may or may not disagree) and it is very satirical in nature. I love satire. The fact that the producers love firefighters helps as well.

Remember: "The views expressed in the following video do not necessarily represent the views of Joseph Schome, The Report-On-Condotions blog or our sponsor Joseph Schmoe Brewery, Death Valley Ca."

Ahh, the creativity and energy of youth!

Thanks to Julian for sharing this vid and thanks to you for reading.

  1. Funniest part of all that is that we started as for profit companies. Hmmm, I wonder if there's a parallel to be drawn there...

    Thanks Schmoe and Julian.

  3. This video's a hoot! And not far from historical reality. In Philadelphia, where basically the concept of the "Fire Department" was invented, in the late 1700s and early 1800s various paid and volunteer depts, often part of insurance companies would debate if and who would put out a given fire. Homeowners would "subscribe" to a certain company and put placards with symbols up on their homes signifying which FD was "theirs". Well, after a few near big fires, the city fathers decided this wasn't such a great system and created the city run department that put out EVERY BODY's fires.

    ARGH...socialism!

In this case, I think it might just be OK.

  5. Dear Captain Schmoe,

I have my bucket and my Gatorade pitcher ready to go. I have to run out and get a box of baking soda. Be right back!

  6. I liked the idea that they used the fire department as an example of government that actually works (in most cases) Good work angry productions.
